Desire and interpretation

Copy does not simply find desire waiting in a pure state. It names, frames and ranks desires. In doing so, it helps the audience interpret what a situation means.

That power creates an obligation to ask whether the interpretation expands agency or converts vulnerability into pressure.

A worthy action

Ethical persuasion is not persuasion without force. It can be urgent, vivid and commercially serious. Its force should come from relevance, evidence and consequence rather than deception.

Persuasion should make a worthy action understandable and possible. The worthiness of the action belongs inside the craft, not outside it.
