Symptoms are not causes
Low response, confused buyers and repeated objections are symptoms. They may arise from language, distribution, timing, proof, price, product or category. Rewriting before distinguishing them turns craft into guesswork.
Diagnosis makes the assumptions visible and asks what evidence would separate one cause from another.
A responsible prescription
The result may still be copy. It may also be a narrower promise, a stronger demonstration, a changed sequence or a decision not to communicate yet.
The first task is not to write. It is to see what the writing has been asked to carry.
